Spiritual Getaway

Hey Lovelies,

One of the most enjoyable things to do with your significant other or friends, in my opinion, is to travel. Experiencing new things and places with your loved ones creates lasting memories and deepens bonds. There are many spiritual locations located all throughout the world for lovers and friends alike. Each week, I will introduce a spiritual destination that would make a perfect romantic getaway or a fun trip with your girl or guy friends.

This week’s featured travel destination is Delphi, Greece.

Delphi is located on the slope of Mount Parnassus, and is popularly known as the Sanctuary to Greek God, Apollo. In the Greek world, Delphi was deemed as the centre of the earth and universe. It was also the location of the Pythian Games, which are the origins of the modern Olympics.

The Sanctuary of Apollo

One can view the sacred sanctuary of Apollo and the many remaining ruins. Examples of such include The Sacred Way, The Temple of Apollo, Polygonal Wall, Treasury of Athenians, Theater, Stadium, and the Tholos or Temple of Athena. Many of these remains date back to as early as 8th century B.C.. The sanctuary is also considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Delphi Archeological Museum is located directly beside the archeological site and houses many extensive artifacts. Tours and day trips of the site are offered at reasonable cost.

Mount Parnassus

Mount Parnassus is one of the highest mountains in Greece. The mountain rises to roughly 2457 meters tall, and is a popular site for mountain walks and winter sports. Mount Parnassus is also home to one of the country’s largest ski centers. Greek mythology states that the mountain is named after Parnassos, the son of the nymph Kleodora, and the man Kleopompus.

Town of Delphi

The Town of Delphi is a small town with roughly 2300 people. However, it contains numerous attractions to appeal to tourists such as hotels, houses, restaurants, shops, and taverns. The town is located within 15 minutes of surrounding cities that contain temples and even a medieval castle.

Delphi is a very unique city with many interesting historical sites and artifacts. It seems like an awesome place to have a spiritual getaway, and I myself look forward to visiting a place that was once the sacred home of a revered Greek God.

Let’s Read Poetry

Hey Lovelies,

It’s Thursday! AKA almost the weekend! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Today is typically POV Thursday, where I give my point of view or opinion on topics related to spirituality, relationships, or both. However, I thought I would switch it up a bit every now and again.

I am a huge fan of art, music, and expression. One of these forms being poetry. In college I used to love going to poetry slams, as the artists performed with so much vigor and passion. Poets are truly able to paint a picture with words and I am continuously in awe of their talent. That being said, on some Thursdays, I would like to feature a poem about love, spirituality, or both in order to honor the theme of this blog.

Today’s Featured Poem:

W.H. Auden

Lay your sleeping head, my love,
Human on my faithless arm;
Time and fevers burn away
Individual beauty from
Thoughtful children, and the grave
Proves the child ephemeral:
But in my arms till break of day
Let the living creature lie,
Mortal, guilty, but to me
The entirely beautiful.

Soul and body have no bounds:
To lovers as they lie upon
Her tolerant enchanted slope
In their ordinary swoon,
Grave the vision Venus sends
Of supernatural sympathy,
Universal love and hope;
While an abstract insight wakes
Among the glaciers and the rocks
The hermit’s carnal ecstasy.

Certainty, fidelity
On the stroke of midnight pass
Like vibrations of a bell,
And fashionable madmen raise
Their pedantic boring cry:
Every farthing of the cost,
All the dreadful cards foretell,
Shall be paid, but from this night
Not a whisper, not a thought,
Not a kiss nor look be lost.

Beauty, midnight, vision dies:
Let the winds of dawn that blow
Softly round your dreaming head
Such a day of welcome show
Eye and knocking heart may bless.
Find the mortal world enough;
Noons of dryness see you fed
By the involuntary powers,
Nights of insult let you pass
Watched by every human love.

Soul Music Wednesday

Hey Lovelies,

Happy Wednesday…. or Happy Humpday! As some of you may know, it is Soul Music Wednesday! I truly believe soul music provides a spiritual experience for both the listener and vocalist alike. On Wednesdays, I like to share a featured love song and give my feedback on the record. Some of the songs will be old classics and others will be new favorites.

The song featured today is “She Didn’t Know (She Kept On Talking)”, sung by the underrated Dee Dee Warwick. The song was written by Jerry Williams, Gary Anderson, and Charlie Whitehead and released under Atco Records. Here is a link to the song is below…

Dee Dee Warwick most definitely has musical talent in her blood, as she is the sister of the legendary Dionne Warwick, the niece of the powerful Cissy Houston, and the cousin to the incomparable Whitney Houston. “She Didn’t Know” was a top ten hit on the r&b charts and was featured on the Turning Around album. “She Didn’t Know” portrays a situation in which a woman unknowingly comes face to face with her husband’s mistress. The mistress is also ignorant to the situation at hand, not realizing that she had just revealed a husbands infidelity in natural conversation. Warwick sung the record with such soulful passion and emotion. Even if one had not experienced being cheated on before, you could feel her pain.

Being cheated on is a feeling that hurts to the soul. When you believe you are truly in love with someone, the thought of your significant other being with someone else feels like the ultimate betrayal. Whether physical or emotional, cheating is wrong, and brings about negative karma that may be returned back to you in the future. Temptation is lurking at every corner, and it takes a strong and disciplined man or woman to resist such urges. While no one is perfect and people do make mistakes, one should try their best to honor their love. The basis of all relationships, both romantic and otherwise, is trust. Once trust is broken, it takes extreme effort and time to be regained, if even possible. Healthy spiritual and nonspiritual relationships are sacred, and should be cherished and respected.

Dating Disasters (Karma)

Hey Lovelies,

On Tuesdays, I thought it would be fun to share some dating disaster stories. A few of the stories will be my own and others will not. When browsing, I came across a hilarious and gratifying story on askmen.com that I’d like to share with you all.

This story was written and submitted by Samer Aldury

Karma Is A B*tch

“A wise man once said that karma is a b*tch, but shouldn’t it get the guy who did something bad? So, this is the story of me (a player) and my twin brother (a player/a**hole), whom I love, by the way — don’t get me wrong.

A couple of years ago, I was at this party, doing my thing and having fun, when this girl approaches me out of nowhere and starts flirting with me. She was like a nine, so I loved it (who wouldn’t, right?). She takes my number and asks me out. At that moment, I knew what it was like to be a chick.

The second day, she call me and asks me out on a date. My brother tells me to take a picture of her boobs, which is something that he does with every girl. My brother’s role in the story is yet to come, but let’s just say he was a player who had zero respect for women and treated them horribly but got incredible results. I am more of a gentle guy, so I do the one-night stand but let the poor girls sleep over, while my brother would kick them out right after sex, telling them to say hello to their boyfriends.

I go out on that date with this girl. I take her to my favorite place in town, where the bartenders and waiters are my good friends and know exactly what to do when i bring a date. The waiter brings the red wine, puts it on the table, gives me an evil smile as if he was saying, “Nice one you got there, mate.” We start drinking and talking —  the first 10 minutes where just perfect. I thought to myself that this girl is really. really nice for a nine, It didn’t feel quite right, but I was just entertaining the thought of taking her home and having sex with her till sunrise.

Then there was a quite interesting turn of events. She starts asking me if i knew her friend Nicole. I had no freaking idea who Nicole was. She starts describing her to me, telling me where I had met her. I said that I was sorry but that I really didn’t know who she was talking about. That’s when she gets frustrated, starts raising her voice, telling me what an asshole I am and asking how I could sleep at night knowing that i just had sex with a girl who has a boyfriend.

I said i usually sleep quite well after sex, trying to make the conversation more fun, something that i shouldn’t have done considering the circumstances. She starts yelling at me, telling me that I am a pig for not remembering Nicole’s name when it had been less than a month since I had slept with her and that i had kicked her out of the house after sex and told her to say hello to her boyfriend. She told me she just went out with me to “do this.” Then she took the glass of wine, splashed it all over my face and told me that this one is for Nicole, then took the other glass and splashed me again, saying that this one is for every poor girl I had ”fooled”into getting into bed with me and takes her purse and storms out.

So there I was, sitting with two glasses of wines splashed in my face and all over my shirt, and the waiter comes up to me, just laughing his ass off, and took a picture of me with his cell, saying that he was going to email that to all of his friends.

In the abyss of that humiliation, I picked up the phone and called my brother, wanting to give him a piece of my mind. I told him about the mix up and how that girl thought I was him and how I got humiliated in my favorite place in town.”

This story is both hilarious and gratifying. I can’t help but admit that I love it when players get what is coming to them. While Nicole may have had the wrong man, Samer’s player ways eventually caught up to him also. Being a player is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as you are honest about your true intentions with those you are involved with. A person, or player, can only get away with what you allow. However, some are very careful and calculated in their tactics, causing even the most intelligent and wise to be fooled. It can also be said that some women, and men, make it too “easy” for someone they are sexually attracted too, and oftentimes said individuals will take advantage of that. It is important to respect yourself and be mindful of your intentions with that person as well. Respect should be given, but ultimately it must be earned.

I truly believe in the existence of karma, and that what you put out into the universe will eventually come back to you, whether good or bad.  If you aim to take advantage of others, there is a good chance that others will aim to do the same to you. Hopefully Sammy and his brother will learn from this experience, although I doubt that his brother got anything more from this situation than a good laugh.

Top Yoga Studios in the World

Hey Lovelies,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! It definitely flew by for me personally.  I hope everyone enjoyed reading about spiritual medallions last week, but this week I would like to get back into the traditional swing of things. As on a typical Monday post, I am going to present a survey dealing with relationships and/or spirituality, and give my commentary on the results.

Yoga has been, and continues to be, a key factor in the spiritual community. There are over 20 million documented yogis in America alone, so I believe it is safe to say that it a common practice amongst both spiritual and non spiritual people alike. That being said, I began to wonder where are the top yoga studios located in the world, as it is a popular practice worldwide. Travelandleisure.com created a list of The Top 25 Yoga Studios Around the World and the list was as follow:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Minneapolis
  • New York
  • Oakland
  • Philadelphia
  • San Fransisco
  • Washington DC
  • Bangkok
  • Buenos Aries
  • Capetown
  • Copenhagen
  • London
  • Mexico City
  • Milan
  • Munich
  • New Delhi
  • Paris
  • Phnom Penh
  • Sydney
  • Tokyo
  • Toronto
  • Zurich

I began to wonder why yoga is much more commonly accepted in America than other spiritual practices. It is hard to be sure, but maybe because many view it as a way of exercise and relaxation, rather than a spiritual exercise. Perhaps many do not know the origins or purpose of the practice, and choose to remain ignorant about it in order to feel at ease. Yoga is an ancient practice founded in northern India over a millennium ago. The traditional purpose of yoga has always been to bring about “a profound transformation in the person through the transcendence of the ego,” Faiths such as Hinduism and Buddhism even translate yoga to mean “spiritual discipline”. It was a practice used for healing, divine harmony, and self enlightenment. Yoga has evolved over time and expanded into many different types used by modern and western culture. However, it is important to note its initial purpose, which carries far deeper meaning  than simply stretching and posing.

Whether one is spiritual or not, yoga is a great practice or hobby to delve into and can even be a bonding activity for couples or friends. There have been many documented benefits to yoga including but not limited to increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone, improved respiration, energy and vitality, balanced metabolism, weight reduction, cardio and circulatory health, improved athletic performance, and protection from injury. Yoga is not only a great workout, but it helps to bring peace and serenity into one’s typically hectic life.

Connect With The Primordial Elements

Hey Lovelies,

Happy Friday! We have finally reached the end of the work week! Today, I typically feature a spiritual getaway destination, for both couples and platonic friendships alike. However, I want to continue to gear my focus more towards spirituality, more specifically discussing spiritual medallions and the benefits of using them.

There are many things a person, or couple, may want in life, such as protection, security, health, financial freedom and more. Spiritual medallions are tools that can be used to offer all of these desired necessities, not only for yourself, but your loved ones as well. Each day this week, I will feature a different medallion and explain some of its benefits. My goal is to help you decide if one of these amazing tools may be right for you or someone you know.

Today, the featured medallion is The First Medallion.

I have discussed several medallions this week that all focus on different aspects of blessings one can attain. Today I would like to focus on a medallion that assists in several aspects of evolution and connection. The First Medallion is a unique and powerful spiritual tool. It is called The First Medallion because it contains several elements that derive from the original primordial elements that make up our universe. The Divine Script that outlines the border of the Medallion spells out the Names of the Four Seraphim that utter the Name of God out into the universe. The First Medallion increases spiritual power, protects the wearer from negative forces, adds the power of the 42 letter name of God to the aura, infuses the wearer with the Power of the Four Seraphim, strengthens the aura, improves health, helps connect the subconscious mind to the celestial realm, improves one’s contact with the indwelling divine essence, and helps to diminish and weaken forces of darkness within the wearer.

The first medallion is a great medallion for beginners that are looking for a single tool to assist them in multiple aspects of their spiritual journey. It is more quaint in size than some of the other medallions, which makes it lighter and easier to be worn. The first medallion is a personal favorite of mine as not only does it have great spiritual power, but also a very beautiful design. This medallion connects you with the universe and allows you to feel centered and at peace with the elements. It is a great source of protection from negative forces and provides a sense of security when worn or carried on your person. Enhance Your Solar Practices

Hey Lovelies,

Happy Friday Eve! I hope everyone is excited that is is almost the weekend! Today is POV Thursday, where I give my point of view or opinion on topics related to spirituality, relationships, or both. This afternoon I want to continue to gear my focus more towards spirituality, more specifically discussing spiritual medallions and the benefits of using them.

Today, the featured medallion is The Vessel of the Five Suns Medallion.

The most powerful thing you can do to awaken your willpower is to look at the Sun. Proper Sun gazing allows one to evolve and expand their consciousness and experience the supernatural. The Vessel of the Five Suns is a unique spiritual power item. It is designed to help you with the process of expanding your solar consciousness. It is charged specially to help mankind with this process. The concept of interacting with the Sun and other celestial entities is a daunting concept for most people. This item has the ability to tap into your latent ability to grow in mind, body and spirit. It will feed on your positive emotional energy and help you manifest five suns in the sky over time. This vessel can expose you to the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh dimensional Suns as a sign of spiritual progression and can facilitate this miracle for you. The vessel does not require great effort or energy to be effective. One must simply wear the medallion to harness it’s abilities.

I personally have been getting very involved in solar work and sun gazing. When the proper tools and techniques are used, it really does help to evolve your consciousness. As a child, I was always taught to avoid looking at the sun, but now I question if that was truly a ploy to keep humans from evolving. Not to say that the sun cannot harm you, but I feel as though we were not taught the benefits of the sun’s power and ability to help you connect with your highest self. The Vessel of the Five Suns is a great tool for anyone that is interested in sun gazing or solar work. It not only amplifies one’s experience, but also begins to impact your life in ways beyond belief. If you are interested in learning more about this medallion, or purchasing one for yourself or a loved one, then visit Tybro.com.
