Happy Humpday Everyone! As some of you may know, it is Soul Music Wednesday! I truly believe soul music provides a spiritual experience for both the listener and vocalist alike. On Wednesdays, I like to share a featured love song and give my feedback on the record. Some of the songs will be old classics and others will be new favorites.
The song featured today is “Be Happy” by Mary J. Blige. The song was written by Mary J. Blige, Sean Combs, Arlene DeValle, J.C. Olivier, and Chucky Thompson. The song generated success on the R&B Singles charts and entering the Top 40 of Billboard Hot 100. “Be Happy” was released in October of 1994. Here is a link to the song below…
I really love this classic 90’s record because it speaks about the search for happiness and love that is so sought after. Materialism ultimately fades, but the desire to be joyful and content with those you love is a universal message that Mary delivers so beautifully. Personally, if I find or attain true happiness, then I have unlocked the key to an emotionally prosperous life.
