Soul Music Wednesday

Hey Lovelies,

Happy Humpday Everyone! As some of you may know, it is Soul Music Wednesday! I truly believe soul music provides a spiritual experience for both the listener and vocalist alike. On Wednesdays, I like to share a featured love song and give my feedback on the record. Some of the songs will be old classics and others will be new favorites.

The song featured today is “Hero” by the fabulous Mariah Carey. The song was written and produced by Ms. Carey and released on October 19, 1993. Here is a link to the song below…

Mariah Carey is a certified icon and has garnered immense success, including being dubbed one of the highest selling female artists of all time. Despite what some may call ‘diva antics’, you cannot deny her ability to sing and write with the best of them. “Hero” was no stranger to success or the charts, becoming one of her eighteen number one hits.

“The song’s lyrics describe the individual power that lies inside every person and their ability to be their own hero. Every person has the light and force inside of them needed to help change the world.”

This song speaks volumes of truth. Inner strength and belief in self is truly all one needs to make a difference. In has been proven throughout time that a single person can change and effect the lives of countless others. Ms. Carey was able to capture this essence so beautifully. Even stating that she does not personally care for the song, but performs it because she understands it’s significance in so many people’s lives. I salute Mariah for her inspiration and willingness to vocalize the feelings of humanity.

With Love,
Miss T
