Happy Humpday Everyone! As some of you may know, it is Soul Music Wednesday! I truly believe soul music provides a spiritual experience for both the listener and vocalist alike. On Wednesdays, I like to share a featured love song and give my feedback on the record. Some of the songs will be old classics and others will be new favorites.
The song featured today is “Everyday People” by Sly and the Family Stone. The song was written and produced by Sly Stone and released in November of 1968. Here is a link to the song below…
“Everyday People” garnered much success including reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts for four weeks. The song has an extremely positive message promoting peace and equality amongst people all all races and social groups, with the belief that we are truly all the same. Music has an amazing and unique way of bringing folks of all different backgrounds together to unify them under a common purpose of enjoyment. I respect when artists use their platform to create real change and spread messages of significance in the world, especially behind a fun and funky beat.
