Happy Humpday Everyone! As some of you may know, it is Soul Music Wednesday! I truly believe soul music provides a spiritual experience for both the listener and vocalist alike. On Wednesdays, I like to share a featured love song and give my feedback on the record. Some of the songs will be old classics and others will be new favorites.
The song featured today is “New Attitude” by the incomparable Patti LaBelle. The song was written by Sharon Robinson, Jon Gilutin, and Bunny Hull, and released in December of 1984. Here is a link to the song below…
While still soulful, “New Attitude” was one of Patti Labelle’s first successful pop crossover hits. The song reached number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Hot Dance Music charts. I love the message of this song. Sometimes having a new attitude is all you need to improve your outlook on life. It is a wonderful feeling to have confidence and a powerful sense of self, both physically and mentally. Much respect to Ms. Labelle for her talent and inspiration.
