On Tuesdays, I thought it would be fun to share some dating disaster stories. A few of the stories will be my own and others will not. When browsing, I came across a pretty good story on askmen.com that I’d like to share with you all.
This Story Was Submitted By James Young
It was back in the early ’90s, and I had me this really pretty girl from the Air Force when she was stationed here in San Antonio. We had just come from a bar and ran into some friends at local restaurant. We all were eating outside when this puppy came walking through the fence, so we gave it a couple of pieces of bread. Shortly afterwards, a security guard come and demanded that we remove our dog. My date mouthed off, and it was downhill after that. He left, but she was pissed and walked inside. Soon after, we heard glass breaking. I didn’t even want to look up, but my buddy says, “Hey, your date is getting arrested!” I just kept eating my soup and told him, “Don’t look up. Just don’t look up!” When we walked out of the restaurant, she was lying on the hood of a police car, handcuffed. As we walked by, I said, “I’ll call you.”
This story is quite unfortunate. How would you react if your date was being arrested? Does it matter what the charge is, or as soon as you see handcuffs, you are officially over that person? If I was in Mr. Young’s position, her behavior might have indicated to me that she might have a bit of an attitude or anger problem. While she may have wanted her dog to be in the restaurant, she should have respected the restaurant’s policy without mouthing off. If I was on a date with someone and they acted as such unjustly, then that would be a huge turnoff for me personally. In all honesty, if placed in that situation, I would think that the person was probably more trouble than I was willing to handle if we were just meeting. However, the young woman may have just been having an off or bad day so you never know. I do wonder if she asked the guy to bail her out of jail after her arrest and if he ever called. Somehow I doubt it.
